Buddhist Studies, South Asian Religions
Justin Fifield is a Ph.D. Candidate in South Asian Religions, with a primary focus on Buddhist literature in Sanskrit. He is particularly interested in narrative, as a genre of literature and as a mode of religious discourse. His work combines a fine-grain analysis of language and narrative structure with a hermeneutic sensitive to the function of religious literature within South Asian religious traditions. Beyond this specialized focus, he is deeply committed to the Study of Religion as an academic discipline and to the comparative study of religious traditions from across Asia.
