Max Perry Mueller studies American religious history, focusing on Mormonism and African American religious history. His dissertation examines turn-of-the-century Mormon participation in national conversations on race, gender and political identities. Max graduated from Carleton College with distinction in religion and French and Francophone studies and has a MTS in American religious history from Harvard Divinity School. He is currently the Eccles Mormon Studies fellow at the Tanner Humanities Center at the University of Utah. He is also Associate Editor of Religion & Politics, the online journal of the Danforth Center on Religion and Politics at Washington University of St. Louis.
