Amadu Kunateh
PhD Candidate

Amadu Kunateh is a Ph.D. student in Philosophy of Religion, specializing in philosophical currents within the North and West African Islamic intellectual tradition. His research covers the reception of philosophy (Falsafa) and theology (Kalām) in Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly tracking original contributions to perennial questions in the Islamic intellectual tradition from this region.

His work is situated within a growing field of cross-cultural dialogue, where authors not only analyze historical material but also philosophically engage with contemporary issues by dialoguing with insights from this historical tradition on its own terms.

Amadu earned his BA from Dartmouth College and an MTS from Harvard Divinity School.
