Axel Takács is interested in traditional Christian theology and Islamic 'irfan and hikma. He is looking forward to entering into close theological comparisons based on texts from each tradition. His interest in Christianity revolves around Catholic spirituality, mysticism, and philosophical theology, while his interest in Islam revolves around Ibn 'Arabi, the later Akbarian tradition, and philosophy as it developed in Iran. Axel holds degrees from St. Louis University (B.S., B.A.) and Harvard Divinity School (M.T.S.). He is a co-founder and co-editor of the Journal of Comparative Theology .
