
Janan Graham-Russell
PhD Candidate
Janan Graham-Russell studies womanist theology, Afro-Atlantic religion, and contemporary Mormonism. She specifically engages racial identity and religious expression among black Latter-day Saint women in the Afro-Atlantic. Her work has been featured in two books: Mormon Feminism: Essential Writings (Oxford University Press, 2015) and A Book of Mormons: Latter-day Saints on a Modern-Day Zion (White Cloud Press, 2015) as well as The Atlantic online. Janan holds an M.A. in Religion from the Howard University School of Divinity.
