My research investigates the rebellions, temples, and priestly literature of ancient West Asia under the Achaemenid and Seleucid empires, and I am especially committed to placing Late Babylonian sources into conversation with the texts of Second Temple Judaism. Continuing on into the early Roman empire, my broader research interests include apocalypses and historiography; the afterlife and divine dead; and exegesis and divination. My prior education includes a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Texas at Austin and a MA in Religion from Yale Divinity School.
