Mac Loftin is a PhD student specializing in Theology. He studies the boundaries of theology: how and why given texts are classified as “theological” or “nontheological.” In addition to exploring Christian sacramental theology as a fruitful site from which to challenge such boundaries, he is particularly interested in the political and historical stakes of their contestation, with his research focusing on the reading and writing of theological texts during the rise of European fascism in the 20th century. Mac holds a BA from Boston University and an MDiv from Harvard Divinity School.
